So, tonight was the Bring your Own set tournement at the club. This was just to practice for the nationals, so I was hoping for good results.
I had previously ordered some cards from cardsinhand, but they had not arrived. So I was a few short of what I needed. Namely Echo’s and It’s clobbering times. This hurt a little, but I got over it.
So, I can’t remember much about the games due to a recent ‘thing’ (see later)but all I remember is that in the first game I am playing Ash. He is playing a concealed Marvel knights with a heavy focus on Gun’s Blazing. This didn’t worry me too much as I had my own punisher, but I had the advantage of Torch and thing unstunnability. The most worrying part is the 3 aim counters he had managed to aquire over the first 4 turns. So, needless to say. I lost this game, too…much…KO.
The second game I am playing Arthur, he was playing JLA(DCL) control, though this mattered not, as the punisher quickly dispatched of every single person who hit his side of the table.
Game 3, I am playing Le-wen. She was playing X-statix, unlucky for her I guess, that the punisher was on a roll this game again! When you only have 1 character, and they are getting kiled every turn, it gets quite annoying. Two thumbs up!
Game 4 I am playing Derek, who is playing the new brotherhood. Oh dear, this was a game I was not looking forward to, then on turn 1 when he flips a new brotherhood, I started to worry. Luckily for me, I was playing an unlucky man in this game. Sabertooth hits the table, Punisher goes in wielding two swords. I win this game as well.
So, I was 3-1 and understand why I lost my first game. Fxcking punisher. I trade to make my playset of Royal Flush gangs, all is good. I am even feeling confident about my loss.
So, I get off the train coming home. It’s 1:15 in the morning. I am feeling good, as I should.
I am walking home head held high(mostly to stop me from falling asleep) when two people approach me, and ask me for money saying that they are hungry. I give him £5 as I am in a generous mood, when the wanker pushes a knife to my friggin’ chest.
So by the end of the day, I have spent £20 round trip getting to the tournement, and have my last £58 taken from me at knife point. Score!
At least I have my Royal Flush Gangs and 3 Agilities!
It’s wierd how an armed mugging can ruin your day.
