This week could be really awkward.
I pushed for a doubles legend tournement at our local club. There was a little online mini-argument.
I have been looking forward to it for a long time, and then yesterday something happened.
Since I got back from university I have been looking for a job, and yesterday I got one. The problem is, is that my new job is in a pub. And I have the terrible bad luck so as I could end up working on friday, meaning that I couldn’t actually go.
So, what would I actually play?
I don’t know. I have been wanting an excuse to play Kang since it went golden, and I thought I found it. Then I saw him.
I played silver Multiple Man Legend at the Sheffield elite series and had a blast. Since this is golden I found a new love in Madrox. Let’s just say that legendary battles can do all kinds of damage. Quicksilver and Nightcrawler clear up, then lots of 3/2’s team attack to the FACE!
I recently got my friend back into the game for over the summer, and he loves sentinels, so we were talking about him using wild vomit, because that would be one hell of an attack to the face after my crew clears the board.
Too Janky though. I have a thing where when I take the sensible deck I don’t have much luck, and little fun. Where as when I take Jank it craps out on me and I don’t have fun. Take Thriller for example.
In testing, we just stopped. That’s right, we stopped testing because it won almost every game, and the games it didn’t were due to having record breakingly shite hands. I went to one of the elite series’ and I didn’t see a two drop all day, and considering that I was running 8 of the bastards I was a little pissed off.
Or when I went to the loughborough games and comics day took my insanity deck that single handedly beat galactus down while my friends decks funbled around trying to rectify terrible draws. We were playing it the night before and I had a really terribly shit draw. An Ivy underdrop on 4 with a San allowing the tricks to begin, won the game for me. Bat-Mite with Talia+Crime Doctor worked really really well. I take it the next day it goes wrong, I get a win against Alec’s X-Men and fumble a win against UK Champion Felix playing a shadowpact deck with ALL the shadowpact cards in it. Them’s some brass testes.
So, what I am saying is that I think I will end up playing Kang. 7 searches with no discards needed. Uncertain Legacy was made for Kang. It just was, Origin Story was made for Army and Legend decks, Uncertain Legacy was made for Kang. With the name, even Kang artwork could have made a lot of sense.
The problem I am having is trying to survive the early turns. Since my three drop is hidden, and my back-up three hides himself, my four drop doesn’t arrive till turn 5. The thing is, I don’t like to use my defence pumps before turn 5. Then I like to brick all the attacks then SMACK! So I have a tendency to take a lot of damage on turn 4. Though on turn 5 I can (depending on which 2 I play) have a rediculous board. With a 6/6 two a three drop a 10/10 four and a five it can get a little hectic.
So, thems the dilemmas.
Next on my things to talk about.
I don’t really like X-Men, but they are fun to play. I usually lean towards Jank/Combo/Tricksy/Control decks, but the other week I played with a curve X-Men deck and it was just fun. With no tricks it makes the game a lot more fun, so I have been looking for a curve deck that I can have fun with.
I would really like to make a curve S.H.I.E.L.D deck that has lots of KO effects, but…it just doesnt really work for me. Based on the fact that I have only gotten 2 boxes of Universe I just don’t have enough for it. I tried it but ended up having to steal characters from the Avengers/Thunderbolts/Crime Lords. I would try crime lords, but I really hate them. I have tried, i have tried to like them, but other than the Hand I cant bring myself to like them.
On my Monster army article, I brought up windslow schott and cut off one head… and I have been working on it.
Over, but most definately not out.
P.S: I am really hungover right now, so please forgive any Spelling/Grammer mistakes.
